Female MPs wish Armenian women to love and be loved

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the eve of March 8, the International Women’s Day, PanARMENIAN.Net talked to women members of the Armenian National Assembly to know how they celebrate the holiday and which presents were most memorable for them. Heritage parliamentary group member Larisa Alaverdyan and ARF Dashnaktsutyun representative Lilit Galstyan congratulate Armenian women on the holiday.

How are you going to spend this day?
Larisa Alaverdyan: March 8 is the day of women’s solidarity. This is a day of women’s struggle for their rights. I want to encourage all women to assert their rights, become full representatives of the Armenian civil society and work for its development.

Lilit Galstyan: I am so strained and tired now. I dream of a two-week voucher to the sea, but it’s not possible. I will spend the days off in Tsaghkadzor to have a little rest.

Which was the most original and memorable present that you ever received?
Larisa Alaverdyan: Only flowers. I love flowers whatever reason could be. Flowers symbolize beauty and life, they bring psychological rehabilitation. So, on March 8 I receive flowers from my husband, my children and my friends.

Lilit Galstyan: One of my friends was at the frontline in Omar pass during the war in Artsakh. When he came back, he brought a blue flower for me. Of course, it dried on the way. But this blue flower will always live in my memory.

What would you wish Armenian women on this holiday?
Larisa Alaverdyan: I wish them strength to fight for their rights. This is what I carry with me, it’s a part of my perception of the world. But love is above all, of course. I wish our women to love and to be loved.

Lilit Galstyan: I wish them love, it’s the most important feeling. I also wish our society could be more tolerant. Armenia women deserve being loved.
