Ilham Aliyev's statements suggest blackmail

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Recent aggressive statement, made by Ilham Aliyev before Munich meeting, should be taken seriously, though the statement suggested blackmail," Hrayr Karapetyan, Head of NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs told a news conference in Yerevan.

According to him, Armenia's reply is inadequate to Azeri officials' statements. "Aliyev's statement, suggesting willingness to use force, put paid to Meindorf Declaration."

As Hrayr Karapetyan noted, Azerbaijan would have unleashed a war against NKR, had the country been assured of victory. "Yet, Azerbaijan might even lose its independence in case of hostilities' renewal," he concluded.
