Russian expert believes ceding part of territories in exchange for NKR status possible

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia, U.S., EU, as well as Turkey and Iran, to a certain extent, need to work out common position on Karabakh issue to suggest it to conflicting parties, according to CIS States Institute Director, First Deputy Chairman of RF State Duma Committee on CIS affairs, Konstantin Zatulin.

“The position should consist in returning some territories, currently stationing NKR self defense forces, in exchange for independence of Karabakh,” he told a news conference in Yerevan, emphasizing each nation’s right for self determination.

“Karabakh conflict settlement agreement is practically ready; the parties only need political will to accept it,” Zatulin stated, expressing his personal opinion.
