Turkey’s policy towards Armenia depends on its internal political situation![]() May 25, 2010 - 15:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey’s policy towards Armenia depends on internal political situation in the country, rather than external factors, an expert at Sabanci University and Assistant Director of TESEV Foreign Policy Program Aybars Gorgulu stated. As he told in a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, with the change of leadership in Turkey’s Republican People's Party, the latter’s rating will equal that of ruling AKP. “With resignation of Deniz Baykal and Kemal Kılıcdaroglu’s coming into office, the situation in parliament could change in favour of the other party. I believe AKP won’t be able to win majority at next national elections.” Aybars Gorgulu did not preclude the possibility for Recep Tayyip Erdogan to become Turkish President in future. The expert refuted Azeri media –spread rumours on Kılıcdaroglu’s mother being an ethnic Armenian. “The information is untrue. The new RPP leader is Alevite who follows Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s precepts,” Aybars Gorgulu noted. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. ![]() ![]() Partner news | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
