Gagik Melikyan: Sargsyan-Aliyev-Medvedev meeting favored Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The trilateral presidential meeting in St. Petersburg favored Armenia, an RPA member said.

“The meeting was close to reality, which embarrassed the Azerbaijani President,” MP Gagik Melikyan told journalists on June 26. “Proposals made by the Armenian side were likeable for Medvedev but upset Aliyev.”

Asked whether the St. Petersburg proposals may replace Madrid Principles, Melikyan said that the sides often put forth proposals which are either accepted or not.

“The St. Petersburg featured two key issues: determination of NKR status in compliance with the right of nations to self-determination and non-use of force. This was inadmissible for Aliyev,” he said.
