Gerard Shalian: Russia the main arbitrator in Karabakh process

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia is the main arbitrator in Karabakh process, said Gerard Shalian expert in international and strategic relations.

“Strategic partnership between Russia and Armenia restrain Azerbaijan’s maneuvers, but Armenia has no attractive proposals for the superpowers, unlike Azerbaijan,” he said during a discussion on South Caucasus.

Commenting on U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s forthcoming visit to Armenia, he said it will hardly cause any changes in the Karabakh process.

As to Armenian-Turkish protocols, signing of these was not a clever move by Armenia, according to Shalian.

“Neither Azerbaijan nor Turkey has made any serious diplomatic mistake over the past 15 years,” he said.
