Aram Safaryan: game of nerves is under way in Karabakh conflict settlementJuly 14, 2010 - 16:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the Armenian delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Aram Safaryan said that a resolution on responsibility of the member countries for ensuring global energy security was adopted during a sitting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Oslo on July 6-10. Meanwhile, all suggestions of the Armenian side were included in the resolution, in contrast to those made by the Azerbaijani delegation, Safaryan told a press conference. Besides, during a discussion of the problem of Georgian refugees, the Azerbaijani side wanted to raise the issue of its refugees, but Goran Lennmarker said that "Armenia also has refugees," thus, taking the issue off the table. Safaryan also said that OSCE PA President Joao Soares refuted information ascribed to him by Azerbaijani media that allegedly a progress cannot be reached in the Karabakh conflict, as the RA President is facing problems with his legitimacy inside the country. Soares also said that the Karabakh conflict should be solved according to the principles of the people's right to self-determination and territorial integrity. "The Azerbaijani propaganda is aimed at forcing Armenia to toughen its stance on the Karabakh conflict settlement, what will serve as a reason for Azerbaijan to reject the Madrid Principles. In other words, currently a game of nerves is under way in the Karabakh conflict settlement," concluded Safaryan.
