U.S. again states that use of force in region is inadmissible

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander in Yerevan.

The Armenian leader noted that Armenia is interested in boosting cooperation with the U.S, what proceeds from Armenia's interests, as well as contributes to strengthening of regional stability and security.

For her part, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander expressed gratitude to Armenia for participation in international peacekeeping operations. The parties stressed that Armenia's involvement in the operations not only contributes to actions of the international community, but also promotes the Armenian Armed Forces' efficiency. During the meeting, the parties also discussed regional security, including the current stage of the Karabakh conflict settlement. Celeste Wallander noted that the U.S. states at all levels that use of force is inadmissible. According to her, Washington believes that there is no alternative to a peace resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

The parties also stressed the importance of strengthening the Armenian-American cooperation in the field of defense and security.
