More young people to run for parliament next year

PanARMENIAN.Net - On September 3, Armenian National Assembly speaker Hovik Abrahamyan met with the representatives of Democrat Youth Community of Europe (DEMYC). Karen Avagyan, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group member, the head of RPA youth council, participated in the meeting.

Speaker Abrahamyan gave high assessment to visits which increase awareness of Armenia and the Armenian nation, emphasizing RA’s aspiration to integrate into the EU. The speaker specifically noted the role of RA parliament in EU integration process. “More young parliamentarians will participate in the next RA NA elections to increase the level of integration in European structure.”

Dwelling on Karabakh issue, Abrahamyan spoke in favor of peaceful settlement of the conflict in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, despite Azerbaijan's warlike statements.

Armenia-Turkey rapprochement was also discussed.
