Azeri authorities make provocations and diversions a tradition

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azeri authorities have made organization of provocations traditional, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stated, referring to recent incident on the line of contact of NKR and Azeri armed forces.

As he noted, diversions aim at frustrating the efforts of mediators toward maintaining ceasefire, withdrawal of snipers from the line of contact as well as promotion of conflict settlement negotiations. “Within several hours of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s urge for peaceful settlement of conflict, Azeri authorities came out in their true colors, organizing a diversion at the expense of their citizens' lives. The cynicism of June 18 diversion was doubled today,” Kocharyan stressed.

RA Deputy Foreign Minister called on international community to give adequate assessment to Azerbaijan’s provocative actions, aimed at undermining of negotiation process and Co-Chairs' efforts, RA Foreign Ministry reported.

Another subversive attack of the Azerbaijani armed forces was prevented by Nagorno Karabakh servicemen on September 4 morning.

As result of a close combat, the Azerbaijanis retreated, leaving one killed in the territory controlled by the NKR army.

The NKR Defense Ministry reported no casualties.
