Diversions might be stopped temporarily, if Baku decides that it has suffered huge losses

PanARMENIAN.Net - Commenting on the September 4 incident on the contact line of the Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces, Deputy Director of Caucasus Institute, political analyst Sergey Minasyan said that it is a failed attempt of Azerbaijan to take vengeance for the August 31 losses.

However, the incident became an attempt for the Armenian side to take vengeance for the June 18 losses suffered as a result of the Azerbaijani diversion, Minasyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

He noted that diversions might be stopped temporarily, if Baku decides that it has suffered huge losses.

Commenting on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s possible explanations with respect to recent losses, Minasyan said that Aliyev faces a more serious problem. “He will need to explain why he has not unleashed the promised war after numerous bellicose statements,” said Minasyan.

Another subversive attack of the Azerbaijani armed forces was prevented by Nagorno Karabakh servicemen on September 4 morning. As result of a close combat, the Azerbaijanis retreated, leaving one killed in the territory controlled by the NKR army. The NKR Defense Ministry reported no casualties.
