Armenian forces officer humiliating soldiers on Youtube video charged with abuse of powerSeptember 22, 2010 - 18:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Ministry initiated a criminal case over the Youtube video showing acts of violence among servicemen. The investigation revealed the incident to have occurred in July 2010 in one of Armenian military units. Acting under the influence of alcohol, major Sasun Galstyan was beating and humiliating conscription service soldiers, sergeant Garik Harutyunyan and private Bakur Yeghikyan. On September 18, the major was charged with the abuse of power and taken under arrest. The mobile phone used to film Galstyan’s actions was confiscated. The serviceman of the same military unit, who filmed the video, is being interrogated. The investigation continues.
