Sevak Sarukhanyan: Iran unreliable ally for ArmeniaSeptember 27, 2010 - 17:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran will announce having nuclear potential in a year or two, an Armenian expert said. “Being a small country with domestic tensions, Armenia can’t help resolution of the problem. So, Iran or Russia will hardly resort to Yerevan’s assistance,” Sevak Sarukhanyan, deputy head of Noravank center, told reporters on September 27. Asked whether the sale of S-300 missiles to Azerbaijan might be aimed against Iran, he said the missiles can’t alter the military balance in the region. “Iran will always be the dominating force in the region,” Sarukhanyan said, adding that Iran is an unreliable ally for Armenia. He also noted that Tehran doesn’t interfere in Karabakh talks, since any meddling in the process conflicts with the country’s principles. Caucasus Institute director said that the past year was not remarkable for outstanding foreign policy events in Armenia. Yerkir: serious reshuffle is expected at the Republican Party of Armenia after Tsarukyan’s refusal to join coalition. Zhamanak: the bureau of former Foreign Minister, however, refused to reply further questions on Oskanian’s plans.
