No case of violence against journalists registered in 3rd quarter of 2010 in Armenia![]() October 8, 2010 - 16:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - No case of violence against journalists was registered in 3rd quarter of 2010 in Armenia, according to Ashot Melikyan, head of the committee on freedom of speech and journalists’ rights. “There were five cases of violence fixed in the 1st quarter, 3 were registered in the 2nd quarter and none in the 3rd. Besides, the people’s right to get information was less violated during the reporting period,” he told a news conference on October 8. Melikyan also said he will not be a member of the working group to deal with the law on TV and Radio, as the group will “just pretend working.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
