100% proportional system of parliamentary elections yet inapplicable in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Envisaged amendments to the Electoral Code of Armenia will signal a new phase in the development of electoral system, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group member Rafik Petrosyan stated.

As he told a news conference in Armenia, the amendments will help prevent falsification at the elections.

Commenting on the possibility of transfer to the 100% proportional system of parliamentary elections, offered by the parliamentary opposition, Petrosyan characterized it as impossible, explaining the fact by unsatisfactory development of political parties in Armenia.
