Suren Surenyants: threat of new war in Karabakh became more acute in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - Political analyst Suren Surenyants said that the threat of resumption of hostilities in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone will persist unless a final agreement on the conflict settlement is signed.

There are certain documents on the conflict resolution, however, the parties have not reached consent even on these matters, Surenyants told a press conference in Yerevan.

He added that the threat of a new war in Karabakh became more acute in 2010.

“One should recall recent statements by the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents, as well as continuous ceasefire violations at the contact line between the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces,” Surenyants said.

However, according to him, mediators are capable to neutralize the possibility of war.
