People’s Party hands over its demands to Armenian Presidential Staff Chief

PanARMENIAN.Net - Supporters of leader of People’s Party Tigran Karapetyan handed over a public petition to Armenian Presidential Staff Chief Karen Karapetyan.

According to Spokesperson for the party Manvel Margaryan, Karapetyan said that the petition contains matters, which are within the competence of the RA President, National Assembly and government. Thus, they will unite efforts to solve the problems mentioned in the petition.

At the same time, Margaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that if the demands are not met until February 28, the party will hold a rally and urge people to express no confidence in the authorities, as well as will demand organization of extraordinary parliamentary and presidential elections.

During the February 15 rally of the People’s Party, a public petition was approved, in which the party demanded from the authorities that they immediately release the people detained with respect to the March 1, 2008, events, exclude Nagorno Karabakh’s surrender and stationing of western peacekeeping forces in the region, as well as bring the matter of Javakheti Armenians to a state level.
