Despite energy benefits, EU won’t agree to unilateral support of Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Resumption of hostilities in Karabakh runs counter to the interests of the European Union, according to political science professor at Yerevan State University.

As Narek Galstyan told a news conference in Yerevan, “despite energy benefits, the Union will not agree to unilateral support of Azerbaijan.”

“The EU is interested in Azerbaijan as a transit point for energy carriers from Central Asia. The Union is also interested in maintenance of manageable stability in South Caucasus, as hostilities are well capable to harm fragile gas pipes,” he noted.
