Karekin visit to Georgia senseless without visiting Javakhk![]() April 1, 2011 - 11:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The visit of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch of Catholicos of All Armenians to Georgia will be senseless unless he visits Javakhk, according Artak Gabrielyan, head of A-info news agency and member of Javakhk council of public organizations. “His Holiness Karekin II should attend Surb Nshan Church in Akhaltskha, which is being appropriated by Georgia. Besides, he should address the issue of legal status of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia,” Gabrielyan told a news conference in Yerevan. For his part, head of Upland organization Valery Arabyan said that a separate AAC Diocese should be established in Javakhk. He also noted that Khrimian Hayrik was the last Armenian Catholicos to pay a visit to Javakhk. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
