Heritage party: Ter-Petrossian arranged a deal with authorities

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian National Congress through mediation of European organizations has arranged a deal with the authorities, according to deputy chairman of Heritage opposition party.

“The agreement is likely to have been achieved during the visit of PACE rapporteurs to Yerevan on March 15-17,” Ruben Hakobyan told journalists on April 11. “The possible results of this bargain will be release of political prisoners and detainment of some police officers who incited in March 2008 disorders. Conduction of early parliamentary election is not ruled out either.”

Hakobyan emphasized that there is nothing reprehensible in negotiating with the authorities. “The matter is that the ANC has always slammed any force trying to establish dialogue with the leadership but now it blames others for hampering its dialogue with the authorities,” he said.

Hakobyan also noted that many of the ANC supporters and parties serving in the Congress are unaware of Levon Ter-Petrossian’s bargain.
