ANC coordinator wants peace with Armenian authorities, yet calls for war

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Congress (ANC) coordinator Levon Zurabyan characterized the current political struggle with the authorities as a war.

At news conference in Yerevan, Zurabyan spoke of ANC's willingness to fulfil its tasks through negotiations. “Still, if you want peace, be prepared for war,” Zurabyn said.

“ANC is ready to apply many methods of political struggle which have been unacceptable so far, if the authorities escalate the situation,” he said in reply to PanARMENIAN.Net reporter's question on unacceptable methods of struggle.

Zurabyan did not rule out the possibility of the civil disobedience acts if the authorities refuse to liberate political prisoners, allow free gatherings at Liberty Square and investigate March 1, 2008 events before April 28. He listed a launch of a sit-in, tax evasion and other methods to express protest.
