A PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent reported from the scene that the rally was opened by Chairman of the Armenian National Movement board Aram Manukyan. He congratulated the rally participants on “liberation” of the square, pointing to its importance for the Armenian people. “Independence of the Republic of Armenia was declared here,” said Manukyan. On April 28, the Armenian authorities for the first time allowed the opposition Armenian National Congress to hold its rally in Liberty Square of Yerevan after the March 1-2, 2008, events. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
