Strategy to counteract anti-Armenian propaganda to be developedMay 4, 2011 - 12:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 4, a three-day conference, entitled “History and Culture: against Falsification and Infringement,” kicked off at the initiative of the Public Council at the Armenian Defense Ministry. Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan attached importance to organization of similar discussions, adding that they are needed now. “In my opinion, our task in the information war is to celebrate victories at the spiritual and cultural arena,” he said. Ohanyan added that Azerbaijan, which lacks its own history and culture, tries to appropriate those of Armenia through disseminating misinformation. “Similar conferences need to be organized to present reality to the international community,” he noted. He expressed hope that a relevant policy and strategy to counteract the anti-Armenian propaganda will be formed as a conclusion of the discussions.
