Ruben Poghosyan: fortunetelling is capable of programming person’s further lifeJanuary 26, 2011 - 15:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Priest of St. John the Baptist church in Yerevan Shmavon Ghevondyan said that currently we lack churches to accommodate the congregation. “However, despite the spiritual uplift currently recorded in Armenia, the country’s residents are increasingly inclined towards superstition and apply to fortune-tellers,” Ghevondyan told a press conference in Yerevan. He noted that any fortunetelling is unacceptable for the Lord. Director of the Center of Psychological Aid Ruben Poghosyan noted for his part that superstition is a cultural-historical phenomenon. “The fact that people apply to fortune-tellers is conditioned by people’s need to be protected. People often go to fortune-tellers during a stress after catastrophes, natural disasters. However, fortune-telling cannot eliminate the reason,” he said. Poghosyan noted that fortune-telling is a dangerous phenomenon, as it is programming person’s further life. The UN's target is a 2 C (3.6 degree Fahrenheit) limit on warming from pre-industrial levels for manageable climate change. Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan noted in his Facebook page that he has no intention to change his current job.
