Japanese ASICS becomes new sportswear distributor in RA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan hosted a ceremony of agreement conclusion between RA Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry, RA National Olympic Committee and ASICS Japanese corporation. The agreement was signed by RA Sports Minister Armen Grigoryan and ASICS RUS Director General Igor Fomin.



In accordance with the agreement, Japanese ASICS becomes new sportswear distributor in RA.



SICS Corporation started life as Onitsuka Co., Ltd. on September 1, 1949. On July 5, 1958, they amalgamated with a sales subsidiary, Tokyo Onitsuka Co., Ltd. which was originally a manufacturing subsidiary, and become Onitsuka Co., Ltd.



Thereafter, on July 21, 1977, the new Onitsuka Co., Ltd. merged with GTO Co., Ltd, a manufacturer of sports wear and goods, and JELENK Co., Ltd, a manufacturer of sports wear, and became the present ASICS Corporation. Since this major merger, ASICS has grown into one of the leading sporting manufacturers within the industry.
