Albert Azaryan’s Cup artistic gymnastics tournament kicks off in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 8, Olympic Champion Albert Azaryan’s Cup artistic gymnastics tournament kicked off in Yerevan, with 43 Armenian, Georgian and Iranian sportsmen participating.

Sportsmen competed in overall gymnastics during the first tournament day. Vahan Stepanyan, Harutyun Merdinyan and Arthur Davtyan won medals.

“The winners will also participate in individual event finals, were Georgian and Iranian sportsmen will also compete – two from each country,” Secretary General of the Armenian Gymnastics Federation Elfik Hovhannisyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

Albert Azaryan was pleased with good performance of the sportsmen. “The tournament is organized at a high level, and I hope that the number of participants will grow in future,” said Azaryan.
