Nazik Avdalyan’s sporting career still unclear

PanARMENIAN.Net - European and world weightlifting champion Nazik Avdalyan said the most important thing is that she is already at home and feels good.

“Backache does not really trouble me,” Avdalyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. She was discharged from hospital on May 13.

Nazik Avdalyan got in a car crash on Yerevan-Gyumri motorway on April 26. She had a lumbar injury and comminuted fracture of the first vertebra. She underwent a surgery at Erebuni medial center on April 28.

According to Avdalyan, the situation with her further sporting career will be clear in 5-6 months. “After this period, we will consult with doctors to make a decision. Hopefully, I will recover within these months to gladden my fans. I express my gratitude to all the people, who were concerned over my health state and supported me.”

2008 European champion and 2009 European championship silver winner, Nazik Avdalyan won the world champion’s title in Goyang, South Korea. Then she missed several tournament because of an injury. Returning, she won the Armenian championship and started training for the 2011 world championship.
