The court sentenced the state to pay 133,595 euros to Dink's family in compensation.

The assassination of Hrant Dink was a tragedy which had far-reaching consequences, the Turkish expert said.

The Dink family’s lawyers say much of the evidence indicates that the murder could have been prevented.

Ahmet Davutoglu said Turkey is planning to take action to handle several issues, particularly the Dink case, in line with international law.

"Dink was one of the most precious intellectuals raised in Turkey. It is impossible to even think about justification of such a heinous assassination,” Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
