U.S. seeks expansion of military cooperation with Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - The United States looks to expand military cooperation with Azerbaijan, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia Michael Carpenter told Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on the sidelines of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly.

Carpenter “hailed the level of cooperation in defense sector between Azerbaijan and the United States,” Azeri media reported.

Noting that the consultations on defense issues between the two countries were successfully conducted in March 2016, he stressed the importance of further expansion of cooperation in this direction.
