Iran not facing internal political crisis

PanARMENIAN.Net - Presidential elections in Iran were a great success, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Segeyn told journalists in Yerevan. "Despite the West's efforts to represent the country's situation as problematic, Iran does not face a political crisis," the diplomat stressed. Over the past 30 years, the country faced more serious challenges, but it didn't lose its image. "Many western media are currently trying to misrepresent the county's situation to their advantage. Their goal is to form a wrong public opinion and undermine the country's image," he stated.

As noted by Ambassador, Iran has become a self-sufficient and independent country which continues to develop. "Following the model of religious democracy, Iran is now serves as example to many states. We simply managed to say 'no' to western democracy model. But we are willing to cooperate with all the countries whose interests do not contradict ours," the diplomat stated, adding that Iran needs reforms whereas democracy is a long process requiring many years' efforts.
