Sergei Lavrov: no changes in the activity of Russian military base in Armenia should be expected

PanARMENIAN.Net - No changes in the activities of Russian military base in Armenia should be expected, Russian Foreign Minister said.

“There no specific reason for the issue to gain currency, except that any states who’re closely cooperating in defense sector, like Russia and Armenia, have to plan their actions in advance,” Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Public Armenian Television, when commenting on amendments to the protocol on Russian military base deployment in Armenia.

“The main purpose of the extension of the protocol is securing our time perspectives. No changes in the activity of the base, including functions performed, should be expected,” he said.
