The monument was unveiled by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev during his state visit to Armenia in August. Head of the Armenian NGO Armen Nikoghosyan was decorated with Russia’s state award - Order of Friendship. Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan participated in the meeting, the RA MFA press service reported.
