Georgian expert: NATO considers Russia’s factor in Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian expert Nika Chitadze said that if NATO becomes more active in ensuring safety in South Caucasus, it will have only a positive impact on situation in the region.

“In my opinion, currently NATO does not try to get involved in the processes related to security in the South Caucasus. However, taking into consideration possibilities of the organization, which used to be a stability guarantor in the Balkans, active involvement of NATO in the region’s processes will be positive,” Chitadze said.

As for NATO’s involvement in the processes aimed at conflicts settlement in South Caucasus, the Georgian expert said that the alliance considers Russia’s factor. “Besides, now NATO is focused on Afghanistan,” he concluded.
