Turkey seeks to make peace with Israel: Gul invites Peres to Istanbul

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish President Abdullah Gul invited his Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres to the Istanbul-hosted conference to be held under the UN aegis in May.

According to Istanbul officials, this may be an attempt to break the ice between the two states after deadly flotilla raid.

As the presidential office reported, Peres is considering the offer.

Turkish parliamentary speaker has, in turn, invited Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin. No information was provided as to Rivlin’s response, according to ZMAN.com.
