The averse of the coin shows the National Emblem of Armenia and the Dram's 20th anniversary emblem. It also features inscriptions 'Republic of Armenia' in Armenian and English languages as well as the year of the issue – 2013.

The reverse shows the CBA building and an inscription '20 Years Of National Currency' in Armenian and English languages.

A total of 500 silver coins to the face value of AMD 1000 were issued. The 31,1 gram, 38 mm in diameter and 9990-carat silver coins were designed by Vardan Vardanyan and minted at the Royal Dutch Mint.

The Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank Armenia congratulated the CBA on the 20th jubilee of the dram.

“I congratulate the Central Bank of Armenia and RA Government on the 20th anniversary of Armenian Dram. It is clear that in the last 20 years the Dram was an essential engine required for the country’s development, so I hope and wish that it will continue to power Armenia’s economy as it moves into the next stage of its growth in the coming years,” said Thies Clemenz.
