“New Girl” star to topline “Hello My Name Is Doris” dramedy

Max Greenfield is set to star in writer-director Michael Showalter's next film, “Hello My Name Is Doris,” Greenfield told TheWrap Friday, April 18, the entertainment news agency reported.

The “New Girl” star previously featured in the Sundance comedy “They Came Together,” which Showalter co-wrote with director David Wain.

“It's a story about Doris, this character, she's an older woman,” Greenfield said. “Her mother passes away and she's then forced to kind of find a new life in the city, and she meets this younger guy and thinks that he's the answer.”

The older woman has yet to be cast.

“It's very funny, but it really kind of toes the line. It'll be different than what you're used to [seeing] with him,” he teased.

Greenfield is currently in New York for the Tribeca Film Festival, where he's promoting the friendship dramedy “About Alex,” which co-stars Aubrey Plaza, Jason Ritter, Max Minghella, Maggie Grace and Jane Levy.
