Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr's new comedy Let's Be Cops has premiered its first trailer exclusively through Digital Spy, the entertainment news agency reported.

New Girl's Johnson and Wayans Jr play two friends who dress up as police officers for a costume party and swiftly become the talk of the neighbourhood.

However, their newfound fame comes with a price as they find themselves swept up into the world of mobsters, corrupt police and violent domestic disturbances.

Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, Andy Garcia and Rob Riggle feature in the supporting cast for the movie, which opens August 13 in the US and September 12 in the UK.
