Archstone Distribution acquires “Americons” crime film

Archstone Distribution has nabbed rights to “Americons” and will release the crime film in 15 markets in the first quarter of 2015, Variety reported.

The film is based on a true story and centers on an ex-college football star who gets a second chance. The crime drama is set in Los Angeles and unfolds during the subprime mortgage boom.

Archstone is targeting major markets for the release including Los Angeles and New York.

Theo Avgerinos (“Fifty Pills”) directs from a script by Beau Martin Williams (“Hitters Anonymous”). Williams stars along with Matt Funke (“Monarch Cove”), Trai Byers (“Caesar and Otto’s Summer Camp Massacre”) Sam McMurray (“Raising Arizona”) and Jon Gries (“Taken”).

Archstone Distribution President and CEO Brady Bowen negotiated on behalf of the company and Elsa Ramo, founding partner of Ramo Law PC, represented the filmmakers.
