Georgian PM to discuss cooperation issues, visa requirements with Yerevan

Discussion of urgent issues in the context of Tbilisi-Yerevan ties will be on Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s visit agenda.

In the light of Georgia’s signing the association agreement with the EU and Armenia’s accession to the Russia-dominated Customs Union, the parties will discuss possible contradictions and work out an acceptable format of cooperation.

Georgia’s intention to introduce visa requirements for Armenia starting September 1 will also be discussed, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan noted earlier, according to Novosti Armenia.

Garibashvili will pay an official visit to Armenia on August 21-22 at the invitation of his Armenian counterpart, governmental press service reported.

Meetings with President Serzh Sargsyan, parliament speaker Galust Sahakyan, Abrahamyan and other senior officials are on Georgian PM’s agenda to be followed by meetings between Armenian and Georgian delegations.

Garibashvili will also visit Armenian Genocide Memorial in Tsitsernakaberd and Institute of Ancient Manuscripts Matenadaran in Yerevan.
