Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to develop “Last Witness” thriller for Fox

Twentieth Century Fox is in negotiations with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to develop thriller “The Last Witness” with an eye to directing, Variety said.

Fox set up the project, written by Danish scribe Stefan Jaworski, in 2011 with John Davis’ Davis Entertainment.

“Witness” is a ticking-clock thriller about the lone survivor of a bomb attack in Boston.

Spanish director Fresnadillo is best known for 2007’s zombie pic “28 Weeks Later.” He also directed “Intruders,” starring Clive Owen and Daniel Bruhl and was attached to a remake of “Pet Sematary.”
