Apple working on slimmer version of MacBook Pro?

Apple is working on a slimmer iteration of its MacBook Pro laptop, according to a report, Digital Spy said.

Supply chain sources have told Digitimes that components for the redesigned machines have begun to crop up in small quantities.

The report goes on to say that the new MacBook Pros could be released either at the end of 2014, or early next year.

Apple's current MacBook Pro is just over 24mm thick for the 13-inch model, while both models of the MacBook Pro with Retina Display measure in at 18mm.

The new model could be a Retina-touting laptop, intended to phase out the only remaining version of the machine without the display tech on board.

Meanwhile, Apple has officially announced that it will reveal its next iPhone on September 9.
