Microsoft launches its first smartwatch-compatible OneNote app

Microsoft has launched its first smartwatch-compatible OneNote app, Digital Spy reveals.

The note-taking app has now landed on Google's Android Wear platform, allowing users to jot down notes with a simple "OK Google, take a note" command.

Owners of a smartwatch running Android Wear can download OneNote from the Google Play Store for free, as long as you have an Android phone running 4.3 or higher connected with the device.

The move is part of Microsoft's renewed focus on expanding its software availability on rival platforms, although a version suitable for the new Apple Watch is yet to emerge.

Elsewhere, the company also announced that it is delivering an update to its iOS 8 version of the app.

iPhone and iPad users can now clip from the Safari web browser, save photos and import attachments from emails into OneNote.
