Google Maps is about to get a bit more informative with its latest update. Version 9.1 is currently rolling out to Android users and includes extra details about a destination or a place, Digital Spy reports citing Android Police.

Firstly, the update will provide local weather and time of the destination you have searched.

It will also provide fun and interesting facts about the area, as well as how much time can be saved if an alternative route becomes available.

'Show traffic' and 'hide traffic' voice commands have been added too, for moments when the driver can't get to the phone.

Earlier this month, Google introduced some aesthetic changes to Maps to incorporate its Material Design.
