Mia Wasikowska is a married woman who lives an unhappy life in the first "Madame Bovary" trailer, AceShowbiz reports. Arriving online on Thursday, January 29, the trailer starts with Wasikowska's Emma making decision to marry Henry Lloyd-Hughes' character Charles Bovary who is a small town doctor. "Please God let him be the right one," she prays.

After getting married, Emma leaves her father's farm to live with her husband. Thinking she will see finer things in life, she ends up feeling unhappy with her mundane life. "I imagined this would be the happiest time in my life," she says.

Seeking excitement and thrilling moments, Emma begins having a series of affairs with some men including Ezra Miller's Leon and the Marquis, played by Logan Marshall-Green. Her misadventures eventually result in some trouble.

Adapted from Gustave Flaubert's 1856 French classic, the drama also stars Rhys Ifans, Paul Giamatti and Laura Carmichael. The Sophie Barthes-directed flick currently has no release date.

Wasikowska next can be seen in "Crimson Peak", a gothic horror directed by Guillermo del Toro. The movie also stars Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam. It is set for release in the U.S. on October 16.
