Armenia submitting resolution on prevention of genocides to UN

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Joachim Rücker, President of the Human Rights Council at his visit to Geneva, Public Radio of Armenia reports.

At the meeting, the parties referred to the consideration of Armenian human rights record at the UN Human Rights Council and its assessment.

Nalbandian informed Rücker that as an important role-player in the international community’s fight against crimes against humanity, Armenia is submitting a Resolution on Prevention of Genocides to the consideration of the 28th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

Nalbandian stressed that it’s important for UN member states to express their unequivocal support to the combined international efforts aimed at preventing new crimes against humanity.

On Monday, March 2 Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated and delivered speech at discussions during the 28th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland. The discussion was titled, “Supporting the Rights of Christians, particularly in the Middle East,” Asbarez reports.
