Blur to headline 2015 Isle Of Wight festival

Blur will headline this year's Isle Of Wight festival joining previously announced headliners Fleetwood Mac, Black Keys and Pharrell Williamns, Gigwise reports.

Marking their triumphant new album The Magic Whip, Damon Albarn and co. will be headlining the Saturday night of the festival. It means that Isle Of Wight has had some of the strongest lineups of a festival this year: bagging Fleetwood Mac is one thing, but getting a genuine. Now let's just hope that Black Keys are fit to play.

Graham Coxon said: “These summer shows are going to be quite different to the gigs we did a few years back. We're excited to play the new record live and we'll have some surprises in store for the fans too.”

Alex James echoed his comments: “The British summer is just not complete without a trip to a festival. We’ve never played Isle of Wight Festival before so we’re really looking forward to this one. And we get to take our tour bus on a boat.”

Isle of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings added: “I’m a huge fan of Blur and have always wanted to bring them to the Isle of Wight Festival so I’m really pleased we’ve finally done it! I know they’re going to blow the crowd away on the Saturday night – see you down the front!”

Blur recently released the third track from their new album The Magic Whip. 'Lonesome Street' followed 'Go Out' and 'There Are Too Many Of Us' are all taken from their first album in 12 years.

The Isle Of Wight Festival 2015 will take place on 11-14 June at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight.
