Marvel, Oscar-winner John Ridley developing mysterious TV project

It looks like another Marvel TV series is in the works at ABC. The studio is reportedly teaming up with John Ridley, an Oscar-winning writer behind the critically acclaimed movie "12 Years a Slave", to develop a mysterious superhero TV project, AceShowbiz reports.

Details of the project, including which title is being adapted into the new series, are kept under tight wraps, but Entertainment Weekly reports that it involves reinventing an existing Marvel superhero character or property.

Ridley's latest TV work is ABC's "American Crime", which debuted last March to strong reviews. He created the anthology crime drama series, as well as directed and wrote the first few episodes.

Two Marvel series, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Marvel's Agent Carter", are currently airing on ABC. Recently, it was reported that the network and Marvel were developing a "S.H.I.E.L.D." spin-off with "S.H.I.E.L.D." executive producer Jeffrey Bell shepherding the project.
