Ryan Gosling eyed to topline Neil Armstrong biopic

Ryan Gosling may go to the moon for his next big-screen project. As AceShowbiz reports citing Deadline, the "Gangster Squad" actor is approached to play the key character in a movie about the famed astronaut Neil Armstrong.

The "Lost River" star is courted to portray the first man who walked on the moon in a biopic scripted by "Spotlight" writer Josh Singer. "Whiplash" helmer Damien Chazelle is attached to serve behind the lens for Universal.

If Gosling signs on, it will be his reunion with Chazelle. The duo is currently shooting musical comedy drama "La La Land" which is supported by Emma Stone, J.K. Simmons, Finn Wittrock, and John Legend. The actor is also among the cast members of an untitled Terrence Malick film. On top of that, he is tapped for "Blade Runner 2".
