Armenia retaliates to silence Azeri attacks on contact line

The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire on the night of February 12-13, firing over 900 shots from various caliber weapons, including 60- and 82-mm mortars, the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army says.

Karabakh troops took retaliatory measures to silence the rival's attacks and continue controlling the situation on the contact line.

On February 11, at around 4:00 pm, a Karabakh civilian, 54-year-old shepherd Hakob Hambardzumyan was lethally wounded in an Azerbaijani sniper attack.

An investigation into the details of the incident is underway.

On the night of February 11-12,Azerbaijani armed forces fired over 4500 shots from various caliber weapons, including 60-mm mortars, RPG-7, AGS-9 and AGS-17 grenade launchers in ceasefire violations in the reporting period.
