Coachella organisers confirm mega fest, Desert Trip

Six of rock music’s biggest artists will join up to play the same festival in an event that is the first of its kind, Gigwise said.

Incredibly, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, The Who, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young will all play the sister festival of Coachella - Desert Trip is coming, Gigwise said.

The festival will take place at Indio, California's Empire Polo Club from 7-9 October, with three nights of incredible music and an all-star lineup of world renowned chefs from 40 of the best restaurants across Los Angeles to New York City.

Dylan and The Stones are set to play back-to-back on Friday to open the festival. Young and McCartney will follow on Saturday, with The Who and Roger Waters closing the event on Sunday.

Neil Young's longtime manager, Elliot Roberts, told Consequence of Sound, “It’s so special in so many ways... because you won’t get a chance to see a bill like this, perhaps ever again".

With these six acts performing together for the first time in history it's a chance to experience full-sets by some of the most influential artists of all time, whose work continues to remain just as relevant as ever.

An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
